I founded Lightspeed Design back in August 2001, and it’s been an incredible journey ever since. In the early days, I was really just a ‘two-trick pony’ – I focused on Illustration and Retouching. But over the years, I’ve been able to expand my skillset quite a bit. These days, I offer a wide range of services including Graphic Design, Digital Illustration, Photo Retouching, 3D Rendering, Website Creation, and now AI Generated Images,.
With over 40 years of experience in advertising, marketing, and publishing, I’ve been lucky enough to collaborate with some truly renowned global brands such as Coca Cola, American Express, BBC, Disney, VW, and BMW – just to name a few. And when I need a little extra help, I have a fantastic network of highly skilled freelancers who can lend a hand with things like Copywriting, Photography, Animation, SEO, and Brand Identity.
I’ve also been fortunate enough to receive a few prestigious awards over the years, including Loerie Craft awards and the esteemed Black Eagle Award. No kidney sales required! I keep my rates consistent across all clients, big or small. If you’re an NGO or charity, I’m even more flexible, offering half my usual fee. No problem. There is full transparency every step of the way, from your initial brief, then to the quotation to the final artwork, I keep you up to speed on progress and timing. It might be easier to show you visually what I mean.

Ai is amazing. But only it the right hands. It can create incredible images, I use it myself but there’s a million things it can’t do yet, way too many to mention. However, to create a.i successfully, having an artistic background and training is crucial because it provides a deep understanding of composition, color theory, and visual storytelling. Websites are notoriously difficult to quote 100% correctly. The best option I have found is to ask the 10 questions below which gives me a much clearer picture of what you need. It also makes you, the client, stop & think about exactly what you need.
There will obviously be more questions from me and from you after this initial process is complete but I always find the planning stage just as important as the design stage.
